Invitation to volunteer
While currently, we have mainly focused on producing the Neighbourhood Plan when a limited number of active members was adequate, our future suggests that there will be a wider range of future activities.
Experience elsewhere confirms that a minimum of about 15 volunteers will be required for involvement in our Working Groups. In addition our paucity of younger members means that the current steering committee will need to be refreshed.
Skills needed
Becoming a voice for the area: This will demand people who enjoy finding ways of organising engagement and public activities both to collect information and to disseminate ideas widely.
Communication: We need people who are familiar with social media, websites and who can sure that all Forum members are kept up to date at all times.
General management: Finally there will a need to fulfil the structural functions such as treasury, fundraising and organisational duties.
Specific roles envisaged and the general areas of interest required:
Planning Applications: We need several people who will take an interest in local applications and help formulate the Forum’s view and formal response.
Project List: We need people who can help formulate and manage our projects’ list. This will need regular consultation, verification and updating, as well as specifying scope and costs.
Maintaining the Plan: The Plan will, over time, require updating. We need people who are interested in the editing of existing policies and creating new ones when required.
